This answer is created when the latest version of fontawesome is v5.* but yarn and npm version points to v4.* (21.06.2019). In other words, versions installed via package managers is behind latest release !
If you installed font-awesome via package manager (yarn or npm) then, please be aware which version was installed. Alternatively, if you've already installed font-awesome long time ago then, check what version was installed.

If you are using a newer version of Angular, just installing the package with npm/yarn is not enough. You also need to import the css file (with @import "bootstrap-icons/font/bootstrap-icons.css";) in your styles.scss .
Hi, I am new to all of this, I am building my own wireframe and added these wonderful icon fonts, they work in ie8, ie9, ipod touch 4th gen, google nexus 7, firefox but not in ie10 windows 8 or windows 8 mobile.

Returns your own custom font based on the glyphMap where the key is the icon name and the value is either a UTF-8 character or it's character code. fontFamily is the name of the font NOT the filename. Open the font in Font Book.app or similar to learn the name. Optionally pass the third fontFile argument for android support, it should be the custom font file name.
Make sure you're using the Download option in IcoMoon, and use the .json file that's included in the .zip you've downloaded. You'll also need to import the .ttf font file into your project, following the instructions above.
